Outbreaks and Emergencies Bulletin, Week 15: 8 - 14 April 2017
This edition of the Weekly Bulletin (Week 15) focuses on selected public health emergencies occurring in the WHO African region. The African Region WHO Health Emergencies Programme is currently monitoring 41 events, 33 infectious diseases outbreaks and 8 humanitarian crises.
This week’s edition covers key ongoing events, including:
- Hepatitis E outbreak in Niger,
- Humanitarian crisis in South Sudan
- Lassa fever in West Africa,
- Hepatitis E in Chad,
- Measles in Guinea,
- Acute Watery Diarrhea/Cholera in Ethiopia,
- Food insecurity crisis in the Horn of Africa.
