Infection Prevention and Control Action Plan 2023/2024 – 2026/2027
The Infection Prevention and Control Action (IPC) Plan aims to improve patient safety, reduce the incidence of healthcare-associated infection (HAIs), and protect the health of all healthcare workers as well as the public.
The IPC Action Plan will provide a framework for addressing the prevention and control of infectious diseases in healthcare settings and beyond. It intends to strengthen the current IPC strategies, policies and guidelines through multi stakeholder coordination including healthcare workers, healthcare facilities, line ministries, government agencies, professional associations, academia, non-governmental organizations and partners. The IPC Action Plan will also serve as an advocacy tool for increased investment in IPC infrastructure as well as promote best practices and enhance capacity in the healthcare system to prevent and control infectious diseases and improve the quality of healthcare services in Namibia.
