National Multisectoral Road Safety Strategic Plan approved for Mozambique
Maputo, 03 March 2011 -- The Mozambican Council of Ministers at its meeting held on 8 February 2011 approved the country’s National Multisectoral Road Safety Strategic Plan for 2011-2016. The general objective of the Strategic Plan is to reduce road accident-related mortality and morbidity in Mozambique.
For the development of the National Multisectoral Road Safety Strategic Plan,
The World Health Organization provided technical assistance for the development of the plan which was, co-ordinated by the National Road Traffic Institute (INAV). The Strategic Plan was prepared by a multisectoral team comprised of technical staff from government institutions working in the field of road safety, academic and research institutions, civil society organizations operating in the road transport sector, driving schools, faith-based organizations, sport organizations and other stakeholders
