In 2022, WHO Namibia received funding, for a period of one 12 months, from the Government of Japan Supplementary Budget to support a nutrition project titled: Mitigating the impact of multiple emergencies on the nutritional status and health of women and children in selected regions of Namibia.

The overall aim of the project was to support the Ministry of Health and Social Services strengthen interventions to prevent and manage moderate and severe acute malnutrition amongst women and children in emergency affected regions and communities.

The project was implemented in  Khomas, Ohangwena, Omusati, Oshana, Oshikoto and Hardap regions, resulting in  increased uptake of nutrition interventions in these regions.

The summary report provides a snapshot of key outputs and results from the 6 selected regions.
