National AMR Structured Operational Research Training Initiative Policy Briefs

Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is an emerging health threat impacting human, animal health and the environment. It occurs when pathogens change over time and no longer respond to medicines making infections harder to treat and increasing the risk of disease spread, severe illness, and death. Research and innovation are important to determine the burden of AMR and develop intervention to combat it.

WHO SL supported the Ministry of Health and Sanitation to implement the national AMR SORT-IT Programme, this has led to the publication of 13 operational research manuscript across the One Health Platform in open access journal. To enhance research uptake, the SORT-IT Researchers have developed policy briefs that were used to disseminate the research findings to key AMR stakeholders including national health authorities and other health sector partners
