Update COVID-19 13 February 2021

13 February 2021 — Sixty-seven (67) new COVID-19 cases were identified out of 4330 samples tested today. This brings the cumulative number of confirmed cases seventeen thousand, two hundred, and sixty-seven (17267). To date, fourteen thousand, four hundred, and seventy-seven (14477) patients have recovered, including five hundred, and forty (540) in the past 24 hours. The number of active cases is two thousand, five hundred, and fifty-four (2554) and two hundred, and thirty-six (236) deaths. 


The new cases are in Kigali (19), Nyamagabe (8), Muhanga (7), Karongi (7), Kayonza (4), Ruhango (3), Ngoma (3), Ngororero (2), Kamonyi (2), Rusizi (2), Burera (2), Gakenke (2), Huye (2), Nyaruguru (2), Rubavu (1), and Gicumbi (1); heightened vigilance is required everywhere.
 
The COVID-19 prevention measures announced by the Government of Rwanda must continue to be rigorously observed, especially frequent hand-washing and physical distancing. In addition, face masks must be worn in public and multi-family compounds.
Withholding information related to contact tracing or COVID-19 symptoms, jeopardises public safety and will be punished in accordance with applicable laws.
