The International Conference on AIDS and Sexually Transmitted Infections in Africa (ICASA) is a major bilingual international AIDS conference which takes place in Africa. Its current biennial hosting alternates between Anglophone and Francophone African countries. The conference is the premier gathering for all working in the field of health as well as leaders, people living with HIV, and others committed to ending the AIDS epidemic. ICASA gathers researchers, experts and health leaders from around the world to share the latest scientific advances, learn from one another’s expertise, and develop strategies for advancing all facets of our collective efforts to end AIDS by 2030. The objectives of the conference are:
- Fostering respect for equity, inclusion and diversity in the control and mitigation of the impact of diseases.
- Sustaining and increase domestic financing and community response.
- Bolstering response to HIV/AIDS, COVID-19, mpox, Ebola and other emerging diseases.
- Mitigating the impact of hepatitis, tuberculosis and malaria through health systems strengthening.
- Generating and providing evidence-based data for policy formulation.
