WHO Country Representative Presents Letters of Credence to Minister of Foreign Affairs
Hon. Mulambo Haimbe, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, has received Letters of Credence from Dr. Clement Peter Lasuba, the newly appointed World Health Organization (WHO) Country Representative to Zambia. This marked the official commencement of Dr. Lasuba’s tour of duty in Zambia and highlighted the beginning of a new chapter in the ongoing collaboration between the WHO and the Republic of Zambia.
The Minister expressed Zambia’s appreciation for the WHO’s continued support in strengthening the country’s healthcare system. “We are grateful for all the support and the critical role that WHO continues to play in addressing public health challenges such as HIV/AIDS, malaria, tuberculosis, and other emerging health threats. It is through your efforts that we continue to ensure the well-being of our citizens,” Hon Haimbe said.
In his response, Dr. Clement Peter Lasuba reaffirmed WHO’s commitment to supporting Zambia’s health sector, particularly in managing the impact of policy shifts and maintaining essential health services. He highlighted the importance of continued partnership in ensuring the enhancement of Zambia’s health sector and overall development agenda.
