Noncommunicable Diseases bulletin - Issue 1
Fifteen countries in the WHO African Region are now at different phases of implementing the PEN-Plus strategy, a program designed to decentralize care for people living with severe chronic noncommunicable diseases (NCDs) in hard-to-reach communities. The PEN-Plus initiative has resulted in life-saving treatment for over 15000 individuals, according to a recent WHO PEN-Plus report.
