WHO Tanzania Walks the Talk

18 June 2022, Dar es Salaam: Today, the WHO Tanzania Country Office team organized its first Walk the Talk event to encourage people of all ages and abilities to move for better health. This in-person and colorful event led by the Acting WHO Country Representative, Dr. Zabulon Yoti and the Country Office Staff Association, invited WHO staff and family members to run or walk over a 5km route from the Country Office premises and along the new Tanzanite Bridge.

Tanzania surpasses the national target for polio vaccination

Tanzania has completed the second round of supplemental polio vaccination and reached a total of 12,131,049 children against a target of 10,295,316 equivalent to 117.8%. The second round of supplemental polio vaccination is part of four rounds of synchronized campaigns aimed at prevent possibility of the spread of polio in countries bordering Malawi and Mozambique that have each reported a case of wild polio

Tanzania ramps up nationwide vaccination against polio

Dodoma, 18 May 2022 – The United Republic of Tanzania has launched its second round of vaccination against wild polio. The World Health Organization (WHO) in Tanzania being at the fore-front of the nationwide vaccination drive, committed to continue providing technical and coordination support in close collaboration with the Global Polio Eradication Initiative, UNICEF and health partners.
