En RDC, les populations déplacées internes du Tanganyika bénéficient de la vaccination contre la COVID-19 grâce au financement de l’Union européenne

Dans la province du Tanganyika, dans le sud-est de la République démocratique du Congo (RDC), les conflits intercommunautaires et les attaques de groupes armés ont forcé plus de 360 850 personnes, soit environ 10 % de la population, à fuir leurs habitations. Ces personnes déplacées internes sont particulièrement exposées aux maladies à potentiel épidémique, dont la COVID-19.

Gombe, 1 December, 2022 - The big idea about Universal Healthcare Coverage (UHC) is that health services should not be a luxury, and everyone, everywhere, should receive the quality healthcare they need without suffering financial hardship.

To achieve this objective,    Gombe State Governor, Mr Muhammad Inuwa Yahaya, recently commissioned the first primary healthcare (PHC) centre,  Doma PHC, at Jekadafari ward, located in Gombe Local Government Area (LGA).

Lindi Region - The World AIDS Day was commemorated nationally in Tanzania on the 1st of December 2022 with calls to end the HIV epidemic by 2030 by equalizing access to HIV prevention and treatment services and increasing domestic funding for the HIV and AIDS response.

The World Health Organization (WHO) congratulates the Government of Malawi for the launch of expanded delivery of the first malaria vaccine – RTS,S/AS01 (RTS,S) – which will enable thousands more children at high risk of malaria illness and death to benefit from the additional malaria prevention.

Malawi launches oral cholera vaccination campaign to contain cholera

Malawi today kicked off oral cholera vaccination reactive campaign targeting 2.9 million people aged one year and above. The reactive campaign is aimed at halting the ongoing transmission and control cholera outbreak that has affected all the 29 districts of the country. The campaign will run from 28 November to 2 December in 13 high burden districts.
