The Anambra State Governor, Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo says, the World Health Organization (WHO) is critical to delivering our mandate to the Anambra people. 

Luanda on June 23, 2022: The World Health Organization in Angola, in partnership with the Hospital Management of the Complexo Hospitalar Cardio Pulmonares Cardial Don Alexandre do Nascimento, held today in Luanda, a training session with health professionals on monkeypox , a zoonotic disease caused by the monkeypox virus.

22 June 2022, Babati - Ahead of the accelerated COVID-19 vaccination campaign across 26 regions of the United Republic of Tanzania, WHO has advocated for strengthened community approach to enable social accountability for increased and sustainable uptake of COVID-19 vaccination to protect the populations from the pandemic.

Juba, 20 June 2022 – With support from WHO and Health Cluster partners, the Ministry of Health is targeting to vaccinate over 633 000 people against cholera in Juba county of South Sudan.

“The oral cholera vaccine (OCV) confer immunity up to a maximum of three years. We appreciate the efforts of the state Ministry of Health and partners in organizing the campaign”, said Honorable Yolanda Awel Deng Juach, Minister of Health, Republic of South Sudan.

COVID-19 vaccination is key to control COVID-19 pandemic, however Namibia is amongst the countries in Africa with low vaccination rate.  As of 15 June 2022, only 23.8% Namibians were fully vaccinated from the target population of 1,779,271.  

18 June 2022, Dar es Salaam: Today, the WHO Tanzania Country Office team organized its first Walk the Talk event to encourage people of all ages and abilities to move for better health. This in-person and colorful event led by the Acting WHO Country Representative, Dr. Zabulon Yoti and the Country Office Staff Association, invited WHO staff and family members to run or walk over a 5km route from the Country Office premises and along the new Tanzanite Bridge.

Luanda – Angola held the first National Forum on Immunization and Primary Health Care on 16 June this year, reaffirming the strategic importance of immunization as a platform to accelerate the provision of integrated, equitable and sustainable services, and guarantee universal coverage of health.
