With strong political commitment, the State of Eritrea has made enormous strides to improve the health and wellbeing of women and children since independence. 

Osogbo, 25 October, 2021 - As a health worker and Local Immunization Officer in Ilesha West Local Government Area (LGA), Osun State, Mrs Toyin Ajewole has seen first-hand effects of a child not being vaccinated. 

Calabar, 21 October, 2022 - Bassey Eyo, a mother of three, living in Cross River State was delighted that she and her child could receive the COVID-19 vaccine and the novel Oral Polio Vaccine (nOPV2) respectively at a health center in Big Qua.

She had travelled 5 miles to get to Big Qua town with the hope of accessing both vaccines. 

hana’s robust COVID-19 vaccination campaign continues to receive a boost with donations through the COVAX Facility. 
The Ministry of Health has in the past few weeks, taken delivery of more than 2 million doses of AstraZeneca’s Covishield vaccines from the Governments of Germany, Denmark, Iceland, Norway with Germany contributing the largest single consignment of over 1.5 million doses.
The donations are in fulfillment of pledges made by the governments to contribute to COVAX.

Juba, 14 October 2021 – a team of technical officers in the National Public Health Laboratory have been trained over the last week, aiming at building their capacity to contribute to controlling yellow fever outbreaks.
