22 May 2021, Kisarawe: It is estimated that 1500 people die every year in Tanzania from rabies. A disease that is preventable by vaccines. Tanzania, like other countries in the world, aims to eliminate rabies by 2030 and has been working in collaboration with partners, including UN agencies to implement interventions to control rabies.

Pemba, 21 May 2021 – More than 1.2 million people urgently need health assistance in Cabo Delgado Province in northern Mozambique where recent armed attacks sparked further population displacement and deepened a protracted humanitarian crisis.

Nairobi, 21 May 2020 – Over three million children across 13 counties of Kenya are to be vaccinated against polio by the Government, UNICEF, WHO and partners, after the virus was confirmed to be circulating in Garissa and Mombasa. The immunisation campaign was launched today in Garissa. 
A door-to-door campaign will now take place from 22 to 27 of May in Garissa, Isiolo, Kajiado, Kiambu, Kilifi, Kitui, Lamu, Machakos, Mandera, Mombasa, Nairobi, Tana River and Wajir counties, as well as in the Dadaab refugee camps. 

Abuja, 19 March, 2021 - To launch the sixth UN Global Road Safety Week in Abuja, road safety stakeholders called for downward review of current speed limit from 50km/hour to 30km/hour in cities and areas where pedestrians and cyclist mix with traffic.

The Tigray Region toll-free call center 6244 was relaunched in Mekelle on April 29, 2021 in an event officiated by the Head of Tigray Regional Health Bureau and in the presence of health partners, representatives of Ethio Telecom in Tigray, newly deployed staff of the call center, representatives of regional media and World Health Organization (WHO) staff.
