10 May 2020 — Four (4) new CoVID_19 cases were identified out of 1040 samples tested today. This brings the cumulative number of confirmed cases to two hundred and eighty-four (284). To date, a hundred and forty (140) patients have recovered and been discharged. The number of active cases is a hundred and forty-four (144).

 All active cases are in isolation in stable condition.  

15 May 2020 — No new CoVID_19 case was identified out of 1058 samples tested today. The cumulative number of confirmed cases remains at two hundred and eighty-seven (287). To date, a hundred and seventy-seven (177) patients have recovered and been discharged, including nine (9) in the past 24 hours. The number of active cases is a hundred and ten (110).

 All active cases are in isolation in stable condition.  

20 May 2020 — Six (6) new CoVID_19 cases were identified out of 982 samples tested today. This brings the cumulative number of confirmed cases to three hundred and fourteen (314). To date, two hundred and sixteen (216) patients have recovered and been discharged, including seven (7) in the past 24 hours. The number of active cases is ninety-eight (98).

 All active cases are in isolation in stable condition.  

28 April 2020 — Five (5) new CoVID_19 cases were identified out of 1505 samples tested today. This brings the cumulative number of confirmed cases to two hundred and twelve (212). To date, ninety-five (95) patients have recovered and been discharged, including two (2) in the past 24 hrs. The number of active cases is a hundred and seventeen (117).

This increase of new confirmed cases reflects a rise in cases of cross-border truck drivers and their assistants. All active cases are in isolation in stable condition.  

03 May 2020 — Four (4) new CoVID_19 cases were identified out of 1047 samples tested today. This brings the cumulative number of confirmed cases to two hundred and fifty-nine (259). To date, a hundred and twenty-four (124) patients have recovered and been discharged, including four (4) in the past 24 hrs. The number of active cases remains a hundred and thirty-five (135).

This increase of new confirmed cases reflects a rise in cases of cross-border truck drivers and their assistants. All active cases are in isolation in stable condition.  

Kampala, 19 May 2020: - The Government of Denmark has signed a grant worth Two (2) Million Dollars to support the COVID-19 response in Uganda. The grant is to be channelled through the World Health Organization (WHO) and the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and will go towards the procurement of lifesaving commodities such as masks and Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs) for health workers. The grant will also support the improvement of Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) services in selected districts.

She said, Ghana has strengthened its medicines regulatory system to ensure safety, quality and effectiveness of medical products manufactured, imported or distributed within the country.

Juba, 16 May 2020 – To provide supportive treatment for severe and critical COVID-19 patients, the World Health Organization (WHO), working with the World Food Programme (WFP) and the International Medical Corps (IMC) has supported the Ministry of Health to upgrade and equip the Dr John Garang Infectious Diseases Unit (IDU).

On a cold Tuesday night, at about 12:00 am, in Malek village, Ms Rebecca Akeer, 26 years old gave birth to a bouncing baby boy in her house in the absence of a skilled birth attendant in February 2020. Malek is located about 41 km north from Rumbek, the state capital in Lakes State.

It happened hours after a nearby Malek Primary Health Care Unit (PHCU) was closed following inter-communal fight which left medical supplies destroyed and health workers were forced to leave their homes due to ensuing conflict.
