Bwagiriza, un des quatre camps de réfugiés du pays, placés sous la gestion du UNHCR. Le camp de Bwagiriza est situé dans le Centre-Est du Burundi à 170 Km de la capitale Bujumbura. Selon les statistiques, il y aurait quelque 4513 femmes et 4365 hommes, soit environ 9.000 personnes déplacées du Congo (RDC), voisin. Ce matin du 25 août 2017, l’équipe médicale organise une sensibilisation sur le thème : l’automédication et ses méfaits.
 

Brazzaville, Congo 4 September 2017 - Health research experts are meeting in Brazzaville, Congo today to discuss some of the pressing issues facing research in the Region. The meeting which is being attended by the members of the African Advisory Committee on Health Research and Development (AACHRD), aims to identify the region’s health research priorities and the use of evidence to address priority public health problems.

Benin, 31 August 2017-In an effort to reduce the unacceptably high measles disease incidence in Nigeria, the government with support from partners have planned to conduct a Measles follow up campaign targeting children 9-59 months old. To achieve high quality implementation, the campaign is planned to be conducted in phases between   October and November 2017 in the North-west and North-eastern states. For the North central, South-west, South-east and South-south zones of Nigeria, the exercise will be conducted during February-March, 2018.

Abuja, 31 August 2017-The World Health Organization (WHO) has donated equipment to the National Emergency Routine Immunization Coordination Centre (NERICC) to improve responsiveness in the resolution of routine immunization (RI) gaps especially in low performing areas for immunization.

Gaborone, Botswana - 31 August 2017: As part of the on-going implementation of the Regional Transformation Agenda, AFRO has trained designated staff from three country offices, namely Botswana, Namibia and Malawi, on integrating the AFRO Results Framework into their plans to enable better performance management and reporting . The Results Framework comprises Key Performance Indicators that will link individual staff performance to the country office, regional office and country national performance and thus highlight areas for improvement and support.

Kampala, 31st August 2017:- The Ministry of Health with support from partners convened a two-day meeting to discuss control and elimination of Schistosomiasis (Bilharzia) in Uganda.

Juba, 28 August 2017 – The Ministry of Health with support from the Government of Japan and the World Health Organization has expanded safe blood transfusion services to Wau, former Western Bahr el Ghazal State. The rollout of the Blood Transfusion services to regional level is a fundamental contribution towards building the capacity of the region to provide and increase access to safe blood supply.
