Sierra Leone 2013 Demographic and Health Survey
This report summarizes the findings of the 2013 Sierra Leone Demographic and Health Survey (SLDHS), carried out by Statistics Sierra Leone in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and Sanitation. The fieldwork took place between June and September, 2013. It is the second Demographic and Health Survey conducted in Sierra Leone, following the first in 2008. The survey aims to provide updated information on fertility levels, marriage, fertility preferences, awareness and use of family planning methods, child feeding practices, nutritional status of women and children, childhood mortality, awareness and attitudes regarding HIV/AIDS, domestic violence, and prevalence of HIV, malaria, and anaemia.
