Mr. Fofana started his professional career in the private sector with the Audit and Consulting firm Ernst & Young. He later moved to Internal Audit successively at the World Bank, UNOPS and UNICEF. Subsequently, Mr. Fofana transitioned to Operations and Management, first with the UNICEF West and Central Africa region, and then with the UNICEF Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. Before joining WHO AFRO in April 2024, Mr. Fofana’s was Deputy Regional Director (Operations and Management) with the UNICEF MENA region.
Mr. Fofana holds a Master’s degree in Finance and Accounting as well as a professional certification in Internal Audit.
