The Information Technology Management (ITM) Unit is dedicated to providing cutting-edge information and communication technology (ICT) services to support the operational efficiency of the WHO African Regional Office and its 47 country offices. Our team formulates, implements, and coordinates ICT strategies and policies to enable better health outcomes across the region.

What we do

  • Administration Services
    • We manage office operations, including meeting coordination, IT equipment inventory, procurement activities, and staff leave management.
  • Network Services
    • Ensuring reliable connectivity through email, telecommunications, and secure networking.
    • We administer the Global Private Network (GPN) and Wide Area Network (WAN), ensuring seamless and secure data flow.
    • Our team ensures data integrity with robust backup solutions and maintains high network availability. 
  • Information Systems 
    • We develop, maintain, and support applications, databases, and health information systems.
    • We enable collaboration through productivity tools and computing solutions, delivering measurable KPIs for improved decision-making.
  • User Support Services
    • We manage the entire lifecycle of user requests and incidents, providing first- and second-level technical support.
    • Our team also develops and delivers training to empower users, ensuring optimal use of IT resources.
