This month, the regional bulletin showcases what WHO’s team on the ground has accomplished, together with Member States and partners in the African region. Focus is on a regional community-based response initiative that includes risk communication and community engagement, surveillance, Infection Prevention and Control, treatment, and vaccination. A socio-anthropological study has helped us to understand how people perceive and are receiving the COVID-19 vaccine, and other public health and social measures (PHSM), towards shaping critical strategies and interventions to address barriers to vaccination uptake and adhesion to PHSM. Some key elements notably the understanding of the barriers to community engagement toward the adhesion to PHSM and vaccination as well as the development of post Covid-19 conditions. 

In the bulletin, highlights are made on the progress by different countries in implementing COVID-19 plans of actions over the past month.
