National HIV service quality improvement tool kit

Since the evidence of the first HIV infection Ethiopia, tremendous achievements have been documented in the prevention and control of HIV. HIV counselling & testing, Prevention of Mother to child Transmission of HIV (PMTCT), care & support to the infected & affected and antiretroviral therapy. Federal Ministry of Health in collaboration with its stakeholders took different measures to improve and standardize quality improvement models for HIV related services. This quality improvement toolkit is intended to give a general guide to continuous quality improvement for HIV services in the country.

Guideline for HIV care/ART clinical mentoring in Ethiopia

Clinical mentoring was extensively practiced by different stakeholders in the country during the scale up of HIV/AIDS programs. Currently however, the government is integrating clinical mentoring services into the existing health care system so that regional health bureaus take the primary responsibility to coordinate and implement. FMOH has also recently revised the national consolidated guidelines for HIV prevention, care and treatment based on recent national and global evidences and recommendations. Revision of this guideline thus became crucial to institutionalize the key changes and assure the implementation of the new recommendations. Therefore, the National Clinical Mentoring guideline is revised through consultation and active involvement of key stakeholders.
