Ghana STEPS Report 2023

To address the escalating challenge of non-communicable diseases (NCDs), Ghana’s Ministry of Health, in partnership with the Ghana Health Service and with the support of the World Health Organization (WHO), has developed the landmark Ghana STEPS Report 2023. Officially launched on Thursday, 31 October 2024, this report is Ghana’s first comprehensive nationwide assessment of NCD risk factors, conducted using WHO’s STEPwise approach. With funding from the UK in Ghana and the Norwegian government, the report provides essential data to guide national policy, strengthen NCD surveillance, and drive evidence-based interventions that can reduce NCD-related mortality and improve public health. The Ghana STEPS Report 2023 establishes a critical baseline for future NCD monitoring and targeted responses across the country.
