Rwanda celebrated the World Mental Health Day 2017

On 10th October, Rwanda joined other countries all over the World to celebrate the World Mental Health Day under the theme: “Mental Health in the workplace”. The Ministry of Health in collaboration with the Ministry of Public Service and Labour and other Partners including WHO, organized in Kigali a national one day Symposium which gathered representatives of employers and employees from the Public and Private Sectors and mental health specialists.

Le Bureau Régional de l’O.M.S. pour l’Afrique, en collaboration avec le Ministère de la Santé du Rwanda, a organisé à Kigali au Rwanda, du 20 au 22 février 2007, un Atelier de formation des formateurs en prévention de la violence et des traumatismes, appelé « TEACH-VIP ». La Formation a regroupé les participants des pays francophones d’Afrique suivants : le Bénin, le Burundi, le Cameroun, la Côte d’Ivoire, la République Démocratique du Congo et le Rwanda. 

Rwanda Hosts the 2007 Africa Malaria Day Regional Commemorative Event

The Rwandan Ministry of Health is spearheading activities to mark AMD. This year's focus is "Leadership and Partnership for Results," and the theme is "Free Africa from Malaria Now!"
Representatives from neighbouring states, international and national NGOs, the diplomatic community, RBM Secretariat and UN organizations have been invited to Rwanda for this high level event. Senior government officials in the country and outside will participate in the official ceremony.

On the 23rd of June 2008, Dr Abdoulie Dodou JACK  presented his letters  of credence appointing him as WHO Country Representative in Rwanda, to the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Mrs Rose Mary MUSEMINALI. The Honourable Minister accepted the letters of credence and welcomed Dr Jack to Rwanda. The WHO Representative told the Minister that  his presence in the country is on behalf of the Director General of WHO and the Regional Director of WHO for Africa.

World Health Organization Meeting on the Eight United Nations Reform Pilot Countries

The World Health Organization (WHO) organized in Kigali, Rwanda, from the 15th to the 16th of April 2008, a meeting of the WHO Representatives of the Eight Pilot Countries on the United Nations Reform. Those countries are: Albania, Cape Verde, Mozambique, Pakistan, Rwanda, Tanzania, Uruguay and Vietnam. The Headquarters delegation was led by Mr. Denis AITKEN, Director-General’s Representative with the participation of the Representative of the Regional Director for Africa.

Kigali, 10 August 2009 -- Rwanda has hosted from the 10th to the 14th August 2009, a workshop on Laboratory‐Based Assessment and Surveillance of Drug Resistant Tuberculosis organized by the World Health Organization, Regional Office for Africa in collaboration with the Ministry of Health. This workshop has been attended by 11 African countries as follows: Chad, Burundi, Liberia, Congo.

The WHO Regional Office for Africa, in collaboration with the Ministry of Health of Rwanda, organizes at Kigali, Rwanda, from 30th May to 3rd June 2011, a training workshop in two sessions, the first one on the programmatic management of Drug Resistant Tuberculosis, and the second on Drug Resistance Surveys (DRS) and Drug Resistant Tuberculosis recording and reporting for Program Epidemiologists, statisticians and data managers from selected participating countries.
