Commemoration of World Malaria Day in Zambia
25 April 2010 -- Zambia joined the rest of the world in commemorating the World Malaria Day (WMD) on 25th April under the theme “Counting malaria out”. The focus on the importance of engaging communities in the fight against malaria characterised the commemoration in Zambia.
This was in line with the slogan “Communities engage to conquer malaria.” which was selected to commemorate the World Malaria Day in the WHO African Region. Various commemorative events were undertaken in different parts of the country to advocate for accelerated action against malaria and to educate and mobilise communities to engage in local action.
