WHO Angola Annual Report 2024
In 2024, WHO Angola continued to provide support to strengthen Angola’s health system through strategic support in policy development, immunization, as well as emergency preparedness and response. High-level engagements with MoH and partners advanced key health priorities, while WHO supported the revision of essential health policies, including Angola’s basic health laws, the health information system and the National Health Development Plan. WHO also provided significant support to Angola’s governing body engagements.
WHO’s technical, coordination and operational support was key in expanding immunization coverage, advocating for mental health, responding to public health emergencies such as polio and mpox, and improving maternal and neonatal health.
Strengthened partnerships with government at different levels, academia, private sector and development stakeholders enabled progress in disease prevention, non-communicable disease management, and health security, aligning with Angola’s national strategies and regional health priorities.
