Update COVID-19 22 April 2021

22 April 2021 — One hundred and fifty (150) new COVID-19 cases were identified out of 4327 samples tested today. This brings the cumulative number of confirmed cases twenty-four thousand, two hundred, and sixty-two (24262). To date, twenty-two thousand, six hundred, and forty-nine (22649) patients have recovered, including seventy (70) in the past 24 hours. The number of active cases is one thousand, two hundred, and eighty-five (1285) and three hundred and twenty-eight (328) deaths. 


The new cases are in Ruhango (29), Nyamagabe (28), Nyaruguru (19), Gisagara (13), Huye (12), Nyanza (12), Kamonyi (9), Ngororero (7), Bugesera (5), Gicumbi (4), Muhanga (3), Burera (2), Rwamagana (2), Ngoma (2), Rutsiro (1), Rubavu (1), and Karongi (1); heightened vigilance is required everywhere.

The COVID-19 prevention measures announced by the Government of Rwanda must continue to be rigorously observed, especially frequent hand-washing and physical distancing. In addition, face masks must be worn in public and multi-family compounds.
Withholding information related to contact tracing or COVID-19 symptoms, jeopardises public safety and will be punished in accordance with applicable laws.
