Zimbabwe commemorates Mental Health Day
Chitungwiza, 3 Nov. 2010. Zimbabwe commemorated a belated Mental Health Day at the Chitungwiza General Hospital under the theme, Mental health and Long term physical illness: The need for continued and integrated care. This year’s theme was aimed at making people and care givers aware that mental health and long term illness have a major impact on each other and should, therefore, be viewed holistically.
The function was attended by senior officials from the Ministry of Health and Child Welfare, WHO, other NGOs supporting mental health and mental health patients from the major hospitals and the central prison.
