The Japanese Government in collaboration with the World Health Organization Regional Office for Africa has launched a call for nominations for the Third Hideyo Noguchi Africa Prize. The deadline for submission of nominations is: 8 August 2018. The Prize consists of a citation, a medal and 100 million yen (equivalent to about one million US dollars). It is awarded to individuals with outstanding achievements in the fields of medical research and medical services to combat infectious and other diseases in Africa. The Prize comprises of two categories: Medical Research which honors individual(s) and Medical Services which honors individual(s) and organization(s).
