The Hideyo Noguchi Africa Prize, established in 2006 to honor the legacy of Dr. Hideyo Noguchi, aims to honor individuals and organizations that have made outstanding achievements in medical research and services combating infectious and other diseases in Africa, thereby contributing to the health and welfare of African people and humanity at large. Each laureate receives a citation, a medal, and an honorarium funded by the Government of Japan and international donations.
