Annual Report on the WHO-UPRA Partnership 2023 - 2024

Since the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on August 3, 2024, the partnership between the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Private University of Angola (UPRA) has led to a series of impactful activities aimed at supporting the government improve health outcomes in Angola. This report provides a comprehensive overview of the activities undertaken in the first year following the MoU’s signing, reflecting our collective commitment to fostering health research, enhancing information sharing, and conducting robust health initiatives.

This collaboration aligns with WHO’s General Work Programme 13, which emphasizes the importance of strengthening health systems and research. Recognizing the critical role that academic institutions like UPRA play in generating essential data, promoting knowledge, and disseminating best practices, this MoU is a strategic step towards achieving Universal Health Coverage and ensuring Health For All. 

The activities detailed in this report underscore the success of our joint efforts in advancing these goals through a variety of collaborative projects and programs, setting a precedent for continued success in the years to come between WHO and the academic community.
