Dr Moeti leads an AFRO delegation to New York for UN General Assembly

The WHO Regional Director for Africa, Dr Matshidiso Moeti arrived in New York yesterday afternoon to attend a series of meetings of the United Nations.
Heads of State and Government are attending the high-level meetings at the UN headquarters, where they will make new commitments to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). 

During the week-long mission to the US, the Regional Director and the AFRO delegation are expected to attend a series of meetings including the UN Summit for the Adoption of the Post-2015 Development Agenda; Accountability in the Post 2015 era: Reaching Every Woman, Every Child, Every Adolescent, Everywhere; From Paper to Action: Government perspectives on operationalizing the Global Strategy for Women’s, Children’s and Adolescents’ Health.

Dr Moeti is accompanied by Dr Felicitas Zawaira, Dircetor of Family and Reproductive Health Cluster,  Dr Magda Robalo Dircetor of Communicable Diseases Cluster,  Dr Pascal Mkanda, Regional Adviser – Polio, Dr Alex Gasasira, WHO Representative - Liberia, Dr Jean Baptiste Ndihokobwayo, Regional Adviser for Laboratories, Dr Ibrahima Soce Fall, Director of the Health Security and Emergencies Cluster.
