COVID-19 Response Monthly Bulletin - July 2022
Since early 2021, mass vaccination campaigns with new COVID-19 vaccines have been conducted as part of the COVID-19 global and national pandemic response. An unprecedented number of vaccinations have been delivered in a short period of time with a variety of new products under emergency authorisation. As roll-out continues in the African continent, monitoring the effect of vaccines in real world conditions is a priority.
The WHO Regional Office for Africa launched the African Region Monitoring Vaccine Effectiveness (AFRO-MoVE) network in May 2021 to support and coordinate COVID-19 vaccine effectiveness (VE) studies in the region.
The AFRO-MoVE Network includes partners from Ministries of Health, National Institutes of Public Health, academia and other stakeholder institutions.
