Declaration on Acceleration of HIV Prevention efforts in the African Region

WE, the regional directors and representatives of UNAIDS, UNDP, UNESCO, UNFPA, UNIFEM, UNICEF, and WHO, meeting in Brazzaville, Republic of Congo, from 2 to 4 November 2005 on the occasion of the Consultative Meeting on Accelerating the Prevention of HIV Infection in Africa;

CONCERNED that the spread of the HIV epidemic is still a problem in Africa, and that children, young people and women are particularly affected, thereby hampering the development and security of the Region;
