Progress towards Harmonization of Partners in the WHO African Region 2023

The "Progress towards Harmonization of Partners in the WHO African Region 2023" report provides an in-depth analysis of the current state of health coordination mechanisms in the WHO African Region. Launched in response to the 2019 Global Action Plan (GAP) for Healthy Lives and Well-being, this report evaluates the collaborative efforts of various health partners to accelerate health interventions and achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG3) in the region.

Effective harmonization of health initiatives is critical to ensure efficient use of resources, avoid duplication of efforts, and align partner activities with national health priorities. The findings from the report underscore the importance of strong national coordination mechanisms, financial accountability, and robust monitoring and evaluation systems. The COVID-19 pandemic further highlighted the necessity of well-coordinated health responses to manage public health emergencies effectively.
