COVID_19 Update Rwanda

30 March 2020 — No new CoVID_19 cases were identified today. The total remains seventy (70).


All patients are under treatment in stable condition in an isolated health facility. The majority are asymptomatic, and no patient is in critical condition. The tracing of all contacts has been conducted for further management.

•    Six (6) travelers who arrived from Dubai and who have been isolated 
•    Two (2) travelers who arrived from South Africa and who has been isolated 
•    One (1) traveler who arrived from Nigeria and who has been isolated
•    One (1) traveler who had frequent travel in the East African region and who has been isolated

• Four (4) travellers who arrived from Dubai and who have been isolated

Gambia receives support to contain spread of COVID-19

BANJUL, Saturday, 28 March 2020: The Gambia, this afternoon, received an assortment of medical supplies - 20, 000 test kits, 1000, 000 masks, 740 sets of protective clothing  and 1000 sets of protective  shields – as donation from  Jack Ma and Alibaba Foundations from China.  The items are part of a continent-wide gesture from the Foundations to support 54 African countries with 1.1 million test kits, 5.4 million masks, 40, 000 sets of protective clothing and 60,000 sets of protective shields to strengthen Africa’s response to

•    One (1) traveler who arrived from Dubai and who has been isolated 
•    One (1) traveler who arrived from USA and who has been isolated
•    Two (2) contacts of previously confirmed positive travelers who were detected through tracing and isolated.

26 March 2020 — Nine (9) new CoVID_19 cases were identified today, bringing the total to fifty (50).
•    Five (5) travelers who arrived from Dubai and were isolated upon arrival
•    One (1) traveler who arrived from USA and was isolated upon arrival
•    One (1) traveler who arrived from Netherlands and who is also a contact of a previously confirmed positive traveler and has been isolated
•    Two (2) contacts of previously confirmed positive travelers who have been isolated.  

WHO donates Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs) to the Ministry of Health

WHO has donated PPEs to the Ministry of Health as part of efforts to support COVID-19 Outbreak Response in Ghana.  The official handing over was done in a brief ceremony with the participation of the Honourable Deputy Minister for Health, Mr Alex K.K. Abban, the Acting Country Representative for WHO, Dr Neema Kimambo, Acting Chief Director of the Ministry of Health, Dr Martha Gyansa-Lutterodt, Directors of the Ministry of Health, WHO staff and a cross section of the Media.

25 March 2020 — One (1) new CoVID_19 confirmed case was identified today, bringing the total to forty-one (41).
•    One (1) traveler who arrived from Dubai and has been isolated.


All patients are under treatment in stable condition, isolated from other patients. The tracing of all contacts has been conducted for further management.
