Weekly operational update on response to Marburg virus disease in Rwanda

Kigali ‒ On 27 September 2024, the Ministry of Health in Rwanda confirmed Marburg virus disease (MVD) in patients in some health facilities and mounted an outbreak response, supported by the World Health Organization (WHO) and partners. WHO's response pillars mirror the 12 response pillars of the Ministry of Health of Rwanda as elaborated in the national MVD readiness and response plan. WHO Rwanda’s Weekly Operational Update contains information on activities in each of these pillars, cross-cutting areas, gaps and challenges, and recommendations.
