WHO/AFRO-UK high-level delegation starts visit to Ethiopia

A high level joint WHO/AFRO-UK delegation has been visiting Ethiopia since 20 February 2018. The delegation is led by Dr Matshidiso Moeti, WHO Regional Director for Africa and Dame Sally Davies, Chief Medical Officer (CMO) for England. Dr Moeti and Dame Sally Davies are accompanied by senior officials from DFID, the Department of Health and Social Care, Public Health England and senior officials of the World Health Organization Regional Office for Africa (WHO/AFRO).

Nursing Now campaign to empower and support nurses in meeting 21st century health challenges

The Duchess of Cambridge will today join nurses and other health leaders across the world in launching a global campaign aimed at raising the profile and status of nursing. The campaign recognises that nurses are at the heart of countries’ efforts to provide health for all. As one of the most trusted professions, nurses provide effective and quality care for people of all ages and are central in addressing the increasing burden of noncommunicable diseases such as cancer and heart disease.
