23 December 2020 — Eighty-seven (87) new COVID-19 cases were identified out of 2366 samples tested today. This brings the cumulative number of confirmed cases to seven thousand, five hundred, and ninety-eight (7598). To date, six thousand, one hundred, and sixty-three (6163) patients have recovered, with no one in the past 24 hours. The number of active cases is one thousand, three hundred, and sixty-two (1369) and sixty-six (66) deaths.

22 December 2020 — One hundred and nine (109) new COVID-19 cases were identified out of 4149 samples tested today. This brings the cumulative number of confirmed cases to seven thousand, five hundred, and eleven (7511). To date, six thousand, one hundred, and sixty-three (6163) patients have recovered, including sixty-three (63) in the past 24 hours. The number of active cases is one thousand, two hundred, and eighty-two (1282) and sixty-six (66) deaths. The new death is a male of 28 years old in Kigali.

Juba, 22 December 2020 – In line with Eliminate Yellow Fever Epidemics (EYE) strategy to prevent international spread of yellow fever, the World Health Organization (WHO) donated 2 000 doses of yellow fever vaccine to South Sudan’s Ministry of Health to provide protection against the yellow fever virus for international travellers and those living in areas where the disease is present.

Juba, 22 December 2020 – to prevent the risk of a cholera outbreak following the devastating floods that displaced communities and led to contamination of water sources in Bor South county, the Ministry of Health with support from World Health Organization (WHO) and partners vaccinated over 63 280 individuals aged one year and above against cholera.

21 December 2020 — One hundred and nine (109) new COVID-19 cases were identified out of 4229 samples tested today. This brings the cumulative number of confirmed cases to seven thousand, four hundred, and two (7402). To date, six thousand, and one hundred (6100) patients have recovered, including nine (9) in the past 24 hours. The number of active cases is one thousand, two hundred, and thirty-seven (1237) and sixty-five (65) deaths. The 2 new deaths are a female of 39 years in Kigali and a male of 58 years in Gicumbi District.

20 December 2020 — Sixty-one (61) new COVID-19 cases were identified out of 3545 samples tested today. This brings the cumulative number of confirmed cases to seven thousand, two hundred, and ninety-three (7293). To date, six thousand, and ninety-one (6091) patients have recovered, including two (2) in the past 24 hours. The number of active cases is one thousand, one hundred, and thirty-nine (1139) and sixty-three (63) deaths. The 4 new deaths are respectively 2 female of 47 and 63 years in Kigali and 2 male of 52 years in Kigali and 68 years in Rubavu District.

19 December 2020 — One hundred and twenty- seven(127) new COVID-19 cases were identified out of 4076 samples tested today. This brings the cumulative number of confirmed cases to seven thousand, two hundred, and twenty-two (7232). To date, six thousand, and eighty-nine (6089) patients have recovered, with no one in the past 24 hours. The number of active cases is one thousand and eighty-four (1084) and fifty-nine (59) deaths. The 2 new deaths are male of 90 and 57 years old respectively in Kigali.

18 December 2020 — Seventy-three (73) new COVID-19 cases were identified out of 3468 samples tested today. This brings the cumulative number of confirmed cases to seven thousand, one hundred, and five (7105). To date, six thousand, and eighty-nine (6089) patients have recovered, with no one in the past 24 hours. The number of active cases is nine hundred and fifty-nine (959) and fifty-seven (57) deaths. 

The new cases are in Kigali (40) passengers from abroad , Rubavu (17), Huye (7), Musanze (6), Rwamagana (2), and Burera (1; heightened vigilance is required everywhere. 

Maiduguri, 18 December, 2020 - Ebuka Arinze Momah of WHO Nigeria wins the Fleet Manager of the Year Award 2020

The 2020 Fleet Forum Fleet Manager of the Year Award has been awarded to Ebuka Arinze Momah of WHO Maiduguri, Nigeria. 

As part of the USAID-funded Fleet Excellence Pro training he followed in April, Ebuka took on the challenge to set an ambitious objective: Reduction of WHO’s fleet cost of operation by 5% within 6 months.
