Abuja , 7 November 2006 -- A new World Health Organization (WHO) Representative has arrived in Abuja, Nigeria. He is Dr. Peter Eriki, immediate past WHO Representative in Kenya. He replaces Dr. Mohammed Belhocine, who has been reassigned from the country, after three years of service.

Brazzaville, 6 November 2006 -- WHO technical officers with responsibility for health systems development and related programmes began a week-long meeting in Brazzaville on Monday to agree a common set of principles and approaches for strengthening WHO support to national health systems in the African Region.

Brazzaville, 25 October 2006 -- Representatives of the World Health Organization (WHO), the West African Monetary Union (UEMOA), the West African Health Organization (WAHO), the East, Central and Southern African Health Community (ECSA), and the Organization for the Coordination of the Fight Against Edemies in Central Africa (OCEAC) have ended a two day meeting in Brazzaville pledging to strengthen partnerships among them, the African Union (AU), the Economic Commission for Africa (ECA) and the Regional Economic Communities (RECs).
